This Privacy Policy explains how DribbleLift (“DribbleLift”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares information when you use the DribbleLift mobile app and this website (together, the “Service”). We keep it short and specific to what the app actually does.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — your email address, name and profile photo if you sign in with Apple, Google or email.
- Profile and training preferences — training goal, current level, dribbling hand, basketball experience, playing position, and optional height, weight, age and gender. Your age is also used to confirm you are 13 or older.
- Support messages — anything you send us by email.
Camera images and video
- First assessment: the app captures still snapshots from each drill. Video is not saved or uploaded.
- Retests: the app records short (about 10-second) clips of each drill, compresses them on your device and uploads them for analysis.
- Training sessions: the camera is used as a live mirror only. Nothing is recorded or uploaded.
Snapshots and clips are automatically deleted 30 days after analysis. We keep only your scores and the text of your report.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and activity — workouts completed, XP, streaks, assessment results and in-app events (for example, which screens you view).
- Device information — device model, operating system, app version, and push-notification token if you allow notifications.
- Crash and diagnostic data — if the app crashes or hits an error, a report with the device state and the steps leading up to it, linked to your account ID so we can fix it.
- Purchase status — whether you have an active subscription. Payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card details.
- Advertising identifiers (Android app only) — your device’s advertising ID and an app-specific install ID, used to measure our ads (see section 5).
2. How we use information
- To analyze your dribbling and generate your score, key takeaway and reports.
- To personalize workouts and track your progress, XP and streaks.
- To manage your account and subscription.
- To send notifications you have opted into, such as training reminders and “your results are ready”.
- To keep the Service secure, fix bugs and improve features.
- To measure how our ads perform and to show them to people likely to be interested.
- To respond to support requests and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we never share your images, video, scores or profile for advertising. Some privacy laws treat the ad measurement described in section 5 as “sharing”; you can turn it off as explained in section 7.
3. AI analysis
Assessment snapshots and clips are analyzed with Google Cloud’s Vertex AI (Gemini models) through our own servers. The app never sends your media directly to an AI provider. Under Google Cloud’s terms, customer data sent to Vertex AI is not used to train Google’s models.
4. Service providers
We share information only with providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of it:
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud — authentication, database, file storage, cloud functions, analytics, crash reporting, push notifications and AI analysis.
- RevenueCat — subscription management, and passing trial and subscription events to Meta for ad measurement.
- Meta — ad measurement in the Android app (see section 5).
- Apple and Google — sign-in, app distribution and payments.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the Service.
5. Advertising measurement
We advertise DribbleLift on Facebook and Instagram. To learn which ads lead to installs and subscriptions, the Android app uses the Meta (Facebook) SDK, which sends Meta your device’s advertising ID, an app-specific install ID, basic device information and a few app events: app opens, sign-up, finishing your first assessment, and starting a trial or subscription (sent through RevenueCat). Meta uses this to measure and improve the delivery of our ads, underMeta’s Privacy Policy. We do not send Meta your name, email, images, video or scores. The iOS app does not include the Meta SDK.
6. Data retention
- Assessment snapshots and clips: deleted automatically 30 days after analysis.
- Account, profile, scores and training history: kept while your account is active.
- When you delete your account, we immediately delete your account, data and media files. Backups are overwritten within a limited period.
7. Your choices and rights
- Access and update your profile in the app at any time.
- Delete your account in the app (Profile → Account & privacy → Delete account) or via our delete-account page.
- Notifications can be turned off in the app or in your device settings.
- Camera access can be revoked in your device settings.
- Usage and ad stats can be turned off in the app (Profile → Account & privacy → Share usage and ad stats). This stops analytics and Meta ad measurement on that device. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland they are off until you agree. On Android you can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, UK or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise them, email support@dribblelift.com. We will respond within the time required by law.
8. Children
DribbleLift is for players aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has used the Service, contact us at support@dribblelift.com.
9. Security and international transfers
Data is encrypted in transit and stored on Google Cloud infrastructure in the United States. We use access controls so that each user can access only their own data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
10. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
